We The North Registration Guide
Account creation walkthrough — username, password, mnemonic phrase, PGP, and 2FA. Before starting, load the market from the WTN Link page (this guide does not publish onion URLs).
Prerequisites Before Registering
Step-by-Step Registration Process
Open the WTN Link Page in Tor
From Tor Browser, open our We The North Link page, copy a verified .onion address, and load it. This registration guide never lists URLs — the Link page owns that content.
Click the "Register" Button
On the WTN homepage, locate and click the Register or Sign Up button. This will take you to the account creation page.
Choose a username and passphrase
Pick a username unlinkable to any clearnet identity — it shows on every order with Canadian vendors. Use a long, unique passphrase; WTN has no email reset, so store both in an offline manager before continuing.
Clear the captcha
WTN puts a captcha on the register form to keep bots out. Solve it to reach the account screen — a "We The North" signup that skips the captcha is a clone tell.
Write down the recovery mnemonic
WTN reveals a recovery phrase once. Copy the words in order to paper, then log out and back in with it to confirm — it is the only route back into your account and wallet, and there is no support recovery.
Add PGP and enable 2FA Strongly recommended
Paste the public key from the PGP tutorial and switch on PGP 2FA. On WTN this is not just login protection — you will reuse the same key to encrypt your Canadian shipping address to vendors.
Read prices in CAD, settle in crypto
WTN listings are anchored in Canadian dollars, then converted at checkout. Fund in BTC or XMR (XMR preferred, via a non-KYC swap) and confirm the CAD total before you commit, since the crypto amount moves with the rate.
Place a small domestic first order
WTN is Canada-only, so deliveries ride Canada Post domestically. Start with a low-value escrow order to a real Canadian address, encrypt that address with PGP, and see how the vendor packs and ships before trusting them with more.
Critical: Protect Your Mnemonic Phrase
- Write it down on paper — never store digitally
- Keep multiple copies in secure, separate locations
- Never share your mnemonic with anyone, including support
- This is your ONLY way to recover your account and funds
Account Security Best Practices
🔐 PGP Encryption
Use PGP to encrypt all sensitive communications with vendors, especially shipping addresses. Generate a new key pair specifically for WTN.
🛡️ Two-Factor Auth
Enable 2FA using PGP to require cryptographic verification for every login, protecting against credential theft.
💾 Regular Backups
Keep offline backups of your mnemonic phrase, PGP keys, and account details in a secure physical location.
Post-Registration Order Tips (Canada-Specific)
Favour domestic vendors
WTN's value is Canada-to-Canada shipping. Prefer sellers who post from inside the country to avoid customs exposure.
Check the shipping guide
Read the Canada Post delivery guide for realistic transit times before judging a "late" order.
Escrow + small first order
Keep escrow on and keep the first CAD-priced order low to test the vendor before scaling up.
PGP-encrypt your address
Always encrypt your Canadian shipping address to the vendor's PGP key — never paste it in plain text.
